A drop-in replacement driver board for Gottlieb System 80, 80A, and 80B pop bumpers

Introduction

Original pop bumper driver boards in Gottlieb System 80/80A/80B machines are decades old at this point, and a lot of them are getting flaky or failing outright. Rather than chase down bad transistors and cracked traces on an original board, I designed this replacement board to be a straightforward drop-in fix.

Key Features

  • Works with all System 80 gamess — one board covers both coil voltages used across the System 80 family.

  • Built-in test button and status LEDs — press the test button and watch the LEDs do the diagnosis for you. Red shows +5V, yellow shows +24V/+38V, and green flashes with each coil pulse. No multimeter required to confirm the board is alive and firing.

  • New screws and standoffs included — everything you need to mount the board is in the kit, right down to the hardware.
